On January 17, 2017, Amara Woolridge was born at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center at 24 weeks and four days gestation. Her twin brother, Arthur, stayed in utero and was born two weeks later, on January 31, 2017, at 26 weeks and four days gestation.

Shortly after their birth, the twins’ mother blogged about their story and the rarity of delayed interval twin delivery.

We reached out to parents Arthur and LaTroya Woolridge for a #FlashbackFriday update.

Amara and Arthur Today

“Our miracle babies, Amara and Arthur, are both healthy and happy children. They have progressed more than we could have ever imagined. While it has not been easy, with the help of the most amazing medical professionals, they have reached every goal that has been set for them. We continue to receive exemplary pediatric care and occupational therapy at Memorial Hermann’s The Preemie Place.”

Turning Two in January

“Amara and Arthur will be 2 years old in January and we are so excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends. One of the questions we get asked the most is, ‘How will you celebrate their birthdays?’ Well, for now, they will each have their own simple celebration at home on their respective birthday, but we will have one party with friends and family to celebrate both of them.”

Grateful for Expert, Loving Care from Day One

“Amara and Arthur are the light of our world and we are so grateful to be their parents. They have changed our lives in the most positive way and we view life so differently because of them. We are so thankful for all of the prayers we have received and continue to receive, and are especially grateful for our medical team, who has provided expert, loving care from day one.”
